Microplastics in Soil and its Effect on Plant Growth

Microplastics have been identified and studied in various environmental systems including lakes, rivers, surface waters, reservoirs, sediments of rivers, and terrestrial environments and they are already acknowledged as emerging pollutants and extensively detected in aquatic ecosystems. Yet there is a knowledge gap regarding microplastic pollution in terrestrial ecosystems.
